Chemical-associated autoimmunity is the condition where chemicals disturb the immune system in a way that immune reactions are directed to components of the body itself, or where chemicals alter components of the body of the host so that they are not recognised by the immune system as non-self.
No models, being animal models or in vitro cell systems are available to predict the autoimmunogen activity of chemicals, and such consequences are usually identified only in humans.
