Content database

Results of DNFCS-Young children are categorized in different ways and divided by sub characteristics, such as the consumption of food groups, intake of energy and nutrients, the contribution of food groups to the intake of energy and nutrients, the consumption of fortified and artificially sweetened foods and the intake of macro and micronutrients according to time or place of consumption. The data in the tables concern the observed intake, for the intake of macro and micronutrients also the habitual intake is presented.
Data are weighed by socio demographic factors and season. More detailed information on the calculation of the usual intake, weighting factors and used categories such as weight class and educational level of parents/carers can be found in the RIVM report Dutch National Food Consumption Survey- Young Children 2005/2006.

These are results of the consumption of food (groups), for the total study population and separately for users only. Results can be called up broken down to gender, gender within age groups, educational level of parents/carers or weight class.

Foods, fortified (in Dutch)

These are results of the consumption of fortified foods, for the total study population and separately for users only. Results can also be looked up broken down to gender, gender within age groups, educational level of parents/carers or weight class.

Foods, artificially sweetened (in Dutch)

These are results of the consumption of artificially sweetened foods, for the total study population and seperately for users only. Results can also be looked up broken down to gender, gender within age groups, educational level of parents/carers or weight class.

Macronutrients (in Dutch)

These are results of the consumption of intake of energy and macronutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates and fibre). Data on observed intake can also be viewed broken down to the place or time of consumption. Also the contribution of the main food group to the macronutrient intake by can be seen. Results can be called up for the total study population or broken down to gender, gender within age groups, educational level of parents/carers of weight class.

Micronutrients (in Dutch)

These are results of the consumption of micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), calculated with and without intake from supplements. Data on observed intake can also be looked up broken down to place or time of consumption. Also the contribution of the main food groups to the micronutrient intake can be seen. Results can be called up for the total study population or broken down to gender, gender within age groups, educational level of parents/carers of weight class.
