On 20 September 2022, Uganda’s Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that there is an Ebola outbreak. On 11 January 2023, Uganda declared that the Ebola disease outbreak caused by the Sudan ebolavirus was over. 142 people were diagnosed with the virus. 55 of these have died. People became infected in Bunyangabu, Jinja, Kagadi, Kampala, Kassanda, Kyegegwa, Masaka, Mubende en Wakiso.
