Vrouw komt voor vaccinatie

Adults who have not yet had a booster jab or repeat vaccination against COVID-19 will receive a reminder letter from RIVM, starting Friday 8 July 2022. The reminder will be sent to people who have previously received an invitation for a booster jab or repeat vaccination, but have not yet received that vaccination. Most people will also receive a reminder in a text message from GGD GHOR Nederland, containing information about making an appointment.

Infections with the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 in the Netherlands have been rising again in recent weeks. Vaccination helps to prevent serious illness and hospital admission due to COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccination also reduces the risk of transmitting the virus to others.

All adults can get a booster jab. The repeat vaccination is for people aged 60 years and older, people living in nursing homes, adults with Down’s syndrome and adults with severely impaired immunity. These people need a repeat vaccination because their immune systems work less effectively, so their protection wanes more quickly.

You can make an appointment to get a COVID-19 vaccination (basic series, booster jab and repeat vaccination) right now by calling 0800 – 7070, or online at www.planjeprik.nl. The website at prikkenzonderafspraak.nl shows a list of walk-in vaccination clinics that do not require an appointment.

The first reminder letters will be delivered from Friday 8 July on. The reminders will be sent over the course of the next two weeks.
