On 9 April, the Health Council of the Netherlands advised priority COVID-19 vaccination for young people born in 2003, 2004 and 2005 who are in the medical high-risk group.

People with Down's syndrome and people with morbid obesity born in 1961 or later, who have not yet been vaccinated, will receive a vaccination invitation from their GP.

Starting next week, the first people in the next age group will receive an invitation from RIVM for a COVID-19 vaccination. These people were born in 1952.

The vaccination figures published today in the RIVM report and on the Coronavirus Dashboard are higher than in previous weeks.

Vaccination with AstraZeneca will continue for people aged 60 years and older; the vaccine is still very necessary for that target group.
