Abstract

In March 2022 the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) held a public consultation on the proposal to lower the health-based guidance value for bisphenol A (BPA). The response of RIVM and the Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) can be found in this knowledge brief. Additionally, an overview of RIVM’s earlier actions around BPA and alternatives to BPA is provided. This reaction was made public on the website of EFSA in 2022. To improve findability of information and provide context around impactful topics such as BPA we decided to also publish this reaction on our own website.
