Samenvatting

In early 2022, EFSA held a public consultation on their draft opinion re-evaluating bisphenol-A (BPA), that included the proposal to lower the health based guidance value. RIVM and NVWA Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit) jointly prepared and submitted comments in response. To inform the Dutch government, the main points of criticism were put into a policy summary and presented to them April 7, 2022. The following appendices were attached to it: 

• the integral text of the comments submitted by RIVM and NVWA, and
• an overview of previous actions carried out by RIVM regarding BPA Bisphenol A (Bisphenol A) and alternatives to BPA.

To strengthen the findability of information and interpretation around impactful topics such as bisphenol-A, we have decided to also share this summary and its appendices as sent to our ministry in 2022, via our own website in the form of a ‘kennisnotitie’.

The final EFSA opinion was published April 19, 2023, with Annex N containing all comments received and, for each comment, EFSA’s response to them
