Abstract

The authors report on the methodological support that has been given to the Future health scenario-project Chronical Diseases. The problem was to model the (future) prevalence of diabetes mellitus in the Netherlands. First a (short) investigation of the literature on this subject has been made. Next a number of mathematical models has been developed and implemented in computer programs. The results of these computer programs are presented and commented.
