Vaccination coverage in the Netherlands rose more sharply this week than in previous weeks, increasing to 81.7% among people aged 18 years and older and 79.0% among those aged 12 years and older.

RIVM is providing access to COVID-19 vaccination figures by municipality via open data as of today.  The open data now includes vaccination turnout and coverage by municipality for three age groups.

The number of estimated vaccinations is now nearly 5.2 million. Due to a programming error, an overestimation occurred in the vaccination figures. As a result, 220,000 excess vaccinations were reported on 13 April.

The first people born in 1961 will be receiving an invitation for a COVID-19 vaccination this Thursday. This group involves people who will be turning 60 this year.

The first Janssen vaccines will be administered to mental healthcare workers on Wednesday 21 April.

Starting in the first week of May, people under 60 who are at risk for medical reasons, i.e.

People born in 1953 and 1954 will receive an invitation for COVID-19 vaccination this week. Starting today, people born in 1953 and 1954 can schedule an appointment.

On 9 April, the Health Council of the Netherlands advised priority COVID-19 vaccination for young people born in 2003, 2004 and 2005 who are in the medical high-risk group.

People with Down's syndrome and people with morbid obesity born in 1961 or later, who have not yet been vaccinated, will receive a vaccination invitation from their GP.

Starting next week, the first people in the next age group will receive an invitation from RIVM for a COVID-19 vaccination. These people were born in 1952.
