In 2025, 869 people were diagnosed with tuberculosis. The number of patients is thus 13% higher than in 2024 and is the highest it has been since 2016.

In 2025 , the percentage of TB (tuberculosis) patients detected through screening of risk groups and source and contact tracing was 27%.

In 2025 , the percentage of TB (tuberculosis) patients not born in the Netherlands was 82%.

In 2025, of the patients not born in the Netherlands, most came from Eritrea (181), followed by Ethiopia (59), Somalia (54), Morocco (53) and Poland (31). The increase in the number of people suffering from tuberculosis is largely due to the influx of people from countries with high levels of tuberculosis, including Eritrea.
