Abstract

In 1989 a prospective descriptive study on nature, extent, cause and effect of occupational intoxications is carried out. The results of 1989 are compared with the results of the studies performed in 1987 and 1988. The sample is based on telephone inquiries addressed by physicians, veterinary surgeons, dental surgeons, pharmacists and the authorities to the National Poison Information Centre in consequence of a suspected acute occupational intoxication. The study is based on 271 suspected cases of an acute occupational intoxication.
