Abstract
In this report it is demonstrated that the ecotoxicological interpretation of the data gathered in the Dutch environmental monitoring network systems will be enhanced by applying biomonitoring techniques. In order to identify biomonitoring aspects of importance, a survey is made of the biological data which are regularly monitored. The resulting list of biomonitoring parameters which are not regularly evaluated, is prioritized according to an extensive set of selection criteria. The results of this evaluation are used to develop a tentative biomonitoring strategy for RIVM.
