Samenvatting
In opdracht van de Autoriteit Nucleaire Veiligheid en Stralingsbescherming (ANVS) heeft het RIVM in 2024 radioactiviteit metingen uitgevoerd aan milieumonsters (oppervlaktewater met zwevend stof, zeewier, zand, sediment en gras) afkomstig uit de omgeving van kerncentrale Borssele. Dit wordt jaarlijks gedaan ter verificatie van de milieumonitoring die door de vergunninghouder van de kerncentrale (EPZ) wordt uitgevoerd.
De meetresultaten van RIVM en EPZ laten beide zien dat er in de omgeving van kerncentrale Borssele geen radiologische verontreiniging als gevolg van de bedrijfsvoering van de kerncentrale is aangetoond, voor milieumonsters die op 4 juli 2024 waren bemonsterd.
Abstract
On behalf of the Dutch Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS), the RIVM conducted radioactivity measurements in 2024 on environmental samples (surface water with suspended matter, seaweed, sand, sediment, and grass) from the area around the Borssele nuclear power plant. This is done annually to verify the environmental monitoring carried out by the permit holder of the nuclear power plant (EPZ).
The measurement results from both RIVM and EPZ show that no radiological contamination resulting from the operation of the nuclear power plant was detected in the vicinity of the Borssele nuclear power plant, for the environmental samples that were collected on July 4, 2024.
