Samenvatting
In deze kennisnotitie berekent het RIVM op basis van de meest recente luchtkwaliteitsgegevens voor stikstofdioxide (NO2) waar in 2030 mogelijk de knelpunten kunnen ontstaan nu de Europese grenswaarde voor NO2 (Stikstofdioxide) wordt aangescherpt tot 20 µg/m3. De kennisnotitie laat ook zien wat een lagere uitstoot van stikstofoxiden (NOx) betekent voor de concentratie stikstofdioxide (NO2) in de lucht. Dit effect verschilt voor verschillende brongroepen, zoals industrie, binnenvaart en mobiele werktuigen. De kennisnotitie is een aanvulling op eerder onderzoek naar de mogelijke overschrijdingslocaties als gevolg van de nieuwe Europese luchtkwaliteitsrichtlijn. Het RIVM deed dit onderzoek in opdracht van het ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat.
Abstract
In this knowledge brief the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) calculates concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) based on the most recent air quality information. It shows where possible violations of the European standards for NO2 emerge when these standards drop to 20 µg/m3 in 2030. The knowledge brief also shows what a drop in nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions means for the concentrations NO2 in the air. This effect differs for different sources, like industry, inland shipping and mobile machinery. The knowledge brief is an addition to previous research on the locations with possible violations of the new European Air Quality Directive. RIVM published this research on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
