RIVM conducts research into the sustainability of medicines. In addition, our institute provides advice on how to make the entire pharmaceutical chain more sustainable: across the stages of development, production, selection, distribution and use. It also looks into the impact of medicines residues on the environment, including on water quality. Other tasks performed by the RIVM are to identify sustainability developments and to monitor the impact of environmental legislation on the availability of medicines and on the quality of care.
More information on the above mentioned topics can be found at Medicines and the Environment | RIVM.nl
