After vaccination against mumps was introduced in 1987, the disease became rare in the Netherlands.  The mumps virus does still cause outbreaks occasionally, especially in areas with low vaccination coverage.  This page presents the latest figures on the mumps virus in the Netherlands. RIVM updates these figures once a month.
