VGO-III sub-studies

Since 2018 the studies focus to reveal the cause of the pneumonia cases around goat farms. People who live near goat farms are more likely to contract pneumonia. Why is that? By answering the following questions, we hope to gain a clearer understanding of the reasons why.

Train the Trainer

RIVM in collaboration with Security and Freedom for Europe (SAFE) developed a Train the Trainer curriculum on ‘Validation and Workflows in SARS-CoV-2 Testing Centers’. The Train the Trainer programme was developed as part of the EU Chemical Biological Radiology and Nuclear (CBRN) Centers of Excellence Project 73.

Research on behavioural rules and well-being: round 14

During the previous survey round in mid-June, vaccination was proceeding well, and the epidemiological figures were showing very favourable trends. Confidence in coronavirus policy increased for the first time in a long while, and support for extending measures for a much longer period decreased. Since then, the relaxed measures implemented at the end of June and the subsequent surge of the coronavirus have resulted in a major change: public confidence in policy has fallen again in the current survey round (28 July – 1 August), while support for continuing to maintain measures has risen.

Research on behavioural rules and well-being: round 13

In the period between survey rounds 12 and 13, a number of coronavirus measures were relaxed. The most important relaxed measures are listed below. Travelling abroad was possible again; the opening hours of cafés and restaurants were extended (from 06:00 to 22:00 hrs); the number of visitors allowed at home was increased from two to four people; indoor sports were possible again; and indoor swimming pools, libraries, zoos, museums, amusement parks and music and dance schools reopened.

Calculating occupational risks

There are various types of occupational accidents that can occur during work. For example, people can fall from a ladder or become involved in an accident with a machine. In 2003, RIVM started a project aimed at calculating the risk of an occupational accident. For that purpose, databases were created, various projects were carried out, and a calculation model was developed. The calculation model and associated tools are no longer actively managed. However, the methodology remains available. This page provides a brief historical overview of the available information.
