The Netherlands wants to donate just as many COVID-19 vaccines to other countries as we use ourselves. Wherever possible, we donate vaccines through Covax, the international cooperation programme. And to avoid waste, we also donate directly from our own inventory. This video explains how this works and what role RIVM has in this process. 

The updates and reports on COVID-19 hospital and ICU admissions according to vaccination status are posted on this page. Vaccine-induced protection against hospital admission resulting from COVID-19 vaccination is calculated based on data from the hospital records maintained by the National Intensive Care Evaluation (NICE) Foundation, supplemented by data from the RIVM COVID-19 vaccination Information and Monitoring System (CIMS). 

How effective is vaccination-induced protection against hospital admission? And is vaccine effectiveness different in people with certain underlying health conditions? This is being investigated by UMC Utrecht in cooperation with RIVM in the VECTOR study.
