Nearly 1.9 million COVID-19 vaccinations since start of 2024 autumn round

Since the start of the autumn round on 16 September 2024, more than 1,930,974 COVID-19 vaccinations were registered by RIVM so far (until 10 November 2024).  Vaccination coverage among people over 60 has now reached 35.8%.The COVID-19 vaccination will be available until 6 December 2024.

In autumn 2024, the COVID-19 vaccination is advised for people aged 60 and older, people aged 18 to 59 who are invited to get the seasonal flu vaccine, children and adults who could become very ill from COVID-19 (for example due to severely impaired immunity), and care workers who have direct contact with vulnerable patients.  The COVID-19 vaccination protects against severe illness, hospital admission and death from COVID-19.

Between late August and mid-October 2024, everyone aged 60 and older will receive a personal vaccination invitation from RIVM. RIVM will not send personal invitations to people aged 18 to 59 years who get a seasonal flu vaccine every year. This also applies to care workers who have direct contact with vulnerable patients, and to children and adults in medical high-risk groups who could become seriously ill from COVID-19. They can make an appointment at www.planjeprik.nl. More information about the 2024 autumn round is available at https://www.rivm.nl/en/coronavirus-covid-19/vaccination
