More than 2,302,000 COVID-19 vaccinations since start of 2023 autumn round
Since the autumn round started on 2 October 2023, a total of 2,302,206 people have received a COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccination coverage for people over 60 is currently 42.9%.
This autumn, the COVID-19 vaccination is available for adults and children who have a higher risk of severe illness due to COVID-19, care workers with patient and/or client contact, and pregnant people. This vaccination contributes to protection against severe illness due to COVID-19. This is reflected in the results of research on COVID-19 hospital and ICU admissions based on vaccination status.
Everyone aged 60 years and older has received a personal invitation from RIVM to be vaccinated against COVID-19. People aged 18–59 years who get a seasonal flu vaccine every year will not receive a personal invitation from RIVM, but they are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination. This also applies to care workers who have direct contact with patients and/or clients, children and adults in medical high-risk groups who could become seriously ill from COVID-19, and pregnant people. They can make an appointment through the website at www.planjeprik.nl or by calling 0800-7070. Walk-in clinics where people can be vaccinated without an appointment are also provided by the Municipal Public Health Services (GGDs). Find a location near you through the website at prikkenzonderafspraak.nl.
The COVID-19 vaccination is available until 22 December 2023 for people over 60, adults who are invited to get the seasonal flu vaccine every year, and care workers. After that, the COVID-19 vaccination will still be available for pregnant people. This also applies to people who are referred by their treating physician to get a COVID-19 vaccinations from the GGD.
