Poster: organisation and effectiveness of the Dutch Breast Cancer Screening Program

This poster shows how population screening for breast cancer is organized in the Netherlands and the role played by various public and private organizations. It also provides facts and figures and describes the advantages and disadvantages and success factors of population screening in the Netherlands.

Breast cancer in the Netherlands

Approximately 14,000 women per year are diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and approximately 2,400 with in-situ breast cancer. The average age at the time of diagnosis is approximately 61 years.
