For more than 30 years, RIVM produces the Dutch Public Health Foresight Study (PHFS). The PHFS is commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. These foresight studies are used to inform national and local public health policy. Typical aspects of the PHFS methods are a multidisciplinary, participatory and conceptual approach and the use of a broad definition of health. In 2024, the 9th edition of the Dutch PHFS was published.

In November 2024, the Public Health Foresight Study 2024 (PHFS-2024) was published on this website. The reports and web pages are written in Dutch. As a service to our international readers, we are working on an English translation of the main report. This will be available in early 2025.
Upcoming
In 2028, a new PHFS will be published. The content of this new study will be further determined in the coming period.
